LATEX

Latex is a natural rubber material made from the sap of the Hevea brasiliensis rubber tree. During production, pigments are added to create different latex colors. Latex garments do not have a fabric lining, and the material is usually glued or bonded instead of being sewn, as needle holes can weaken the latex and cause tearing. Sheet latex used for clothing is supplied in large rolls, usually about one meter wide.

How to make your latex clothing shiny?

When you receive your first latex product, its appearance may surprise you, as untreated latex does not shine and can look like ordinary rubber. To create a glossy shine, use a latex polish or pure silicone lubricant. Apply a small amount of polish or silicone to the garment and gently spread it with your hands. You can also use a soft, lint-free cloth. Before polishing, the garment should be washed to remove talcum powder and then dried completely.

How to wear and care for latex clothing:

Many people love the look and feel of latex clothing. With proper care, your latex garments can keep their beautiful appearance and bring you pleasure for many years. The following factors may damage, stain or prematurely wear out latex clothing, so please avoid contact with them:

  • Sunlight: avoid prolonged exposure.
  • Moisture: avoid very long exposure.
  • Oils and greases: avoid oil-based body products, cosmetics and similar substances.
  • Solvents: including nail polish remover.
  • Copper and alloys: even small traces can stain light-colored latex, so be careful with jewelry and coins.
  • High temperatures: excessive heat can damage latex. Be careful with open flames, cigarettes and other heat sources.
  • Sharp objects: be very careful with sharp objects, jewelry and even fingernails, as latex can be scratched or torn easily.
  • Chlorine and bleach: avoid contact with chlorine or bleach, as they can weaken the material. This includes swimming pools with chlorinated water and jacuzzis.

Cleaning:

  • Never wash latex in a washing machine. Do not tumble dry or iron latex garments.
  • If possible, gently wash latex clothing by hand in clean, warm water. Lightly massage the latex surface with your fingertips to remove dirt. Wash both the inside and outside, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use special latex care products when needed.
  • Shake off excess water and hang the garment in the shade on a wooden or plastic hanger. Some metals can damage latex. After drying, turn the garment inside out to make sure both sides are completely dry.
  • Persistent marks can be removed with a small amount of mild soap, but avoid products containing oils or fragrances. Always rinse several times with clean water.
  • Some colors and transparent latex may become cloudy when washed or while residual water is drying. This effect usually disappears once the latex is completely dry and all moisture has evaporated.

VINYL

Vinyl is a unique material made by applying a polymer coating to a textile base. Its structure gives the material its smooth, glossy appearance, elasticity and strength. Vinyl is popular for clothing because it is shiny, flexible, durable and easy to care for.

The main characteristics of vinyl:

  • Elasticity.
  • Smooth glossy surface.
  • Durability.
  • Easy care.
  • Good resistance to fading.
  • Strength.

Care instructions:

Wash vinyl clothing by hand only. No special dressing aid is required for putting it on, and it does not need to be polished, as vinyl has its own glossy finish.

SPANDEX

Spandex is a versatile stretch fabric made from highly elastic synthetic fibers. It was originally developed as a synthetic alternative to rubber, offering excellent elasticity, strength and the ability to return to its original shape after stretching.

The main characteristics of spandex:

  • High elasticity.
  • Lightweight feel.
  • Good resistance to deformation.
  • Color fastness.
  • The material does not wrinkle easily.
  • Easy care.
  • Strength.

This material is easy to care for, but there are a few important recommendations:

  • Do not use chlorine-based bleach.
  • Hand wash only, up to 40°C. Higher temperatures may cause spandex to shrink or lose elasticity.
  • Do not dry near open flames, radiators or other heating elements, as the fabric may melt or become damaged.
  • Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause spandex colors to fade.
